I recently had an interview with The Shelbyville News! Shelbyville is my hometown, so I was thrilled to speak with Ross Flint about my web series REPRESENT, hoping that they might see fit to include me somewhere in the back of the Arts & Culture section. But it turns out that they found me worthy of the front page! I was so excited that they wrote such an awesome article about me and my work, and that everyone back home was so supportive about it! I love talking about my "humble beginnings" in a small town, because I never expected that a life in the arts would be possible for someone like me, who lived far away from Hollywood and couldn't even fathom how to make my way towards that. But I'm writing this from my new Hollywood apartment and making progress every day! Hopefully this piece in my hometown newspaper will light a path for someone who might be in the same boat as I was.
You can read the article on the Shelbyville News website! Thank you so much to Ross, the journalist who profiled me, and everyone at the paper! P.S., I also love that they went with my former valedictorian status as the headline! Nerds get stuff done, y'all!
