Tonight was opening night for the first show Emily has worked on at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, the musical Hands On A Hardbody! Emily is currently supporting the cast and creative team by working on wardrobe crew, as well as observing rehearsals and learning from the actors and director, D. Lynn Meyers. Hands On A Hardbody is a rocking new musical based on the documentary of the same name, and it is receiving its regional premiere at ETC. In the show, ten Texans try to win a truck by keeping one hand on it for as long as possible; the last one to fall off gets to take it home. The truck means different things to each contestant - freedom, power, glory, a job, a future. But as they drop off, the players must discover what it is they really want, and how to go about achieving their dreams without a symbol. Ultimately, it's a story about finding the things and people you love and spending your life working hard to hold onto them.
The show runs through September 21! If you are in the Cincinnati area, make sure to get tickets at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati!
