Hi, all!  It's been a little while since I posted, but thank you for being patient with me as I acclimate more to my new city surroundings in LA! I've missed out on telling you about some news, so I wanted to do a quick update to keep you informed!

First, back in October I was thrilled to get the news that my short film script, The Pledge, won the Best Short Script Award at the Boobs and Blood Film Festival! Boobs and Blood is a festival celebrating women in horror that embraces humor and camp, so it was a natural fit for my script about a sorority with a secret. I had so much fun at the event (as evidenced by the photo on the left) and can't believe that I won such a prestigious award! Thanks to Miles and everyone at Boobs and Blood!
The Pledge has also received some additional buzz by being selected for the Women in Horror Film Festival! I was so excited about this one, because it's such a huge deal for female genre filmmakers.
But there is an extra level of mind-blown-ness for me, because since my script is a finalist, it's still under consideration for awards - so it's being read by the festival's judges, which include absolute legends of horror, like Heather Langenkamp from A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Marianne Maddalena, who produced one of my favorite horror movies, Scream! I can't believe my little script is going to be read by these amazing women, so regardless of how the awards shake out, I'm overwhelmingly PUMPED.
Finally, a different script of mine, Homefront, has received its first official selection at the TalNexus Screenplay Competition, where it was very highly rated! Homefront is so special to me, because it's about women home front workers in World War II, a story that I've been so passionate about ever since visiting the Rosie the Riveter Museum in Richmond, CA and meeting several real-life Rosies who once worked at the shipyards. It's also the script that got me my literary agent Diane, and definitely one of the best things I've ever written. I'm really excited for the future of Homefront, and so thankful to the folks at TalNexus for recognizing it.

This is all to say, I've been amazing - thank you so much for asking! I'm about to travel back to the Midwest to visit family for the holidays, so I'll be taking a tiny break to enjoy that time! But I'm really, really looking forward to all the doubtlessly incredible things 2020 has in store for me. #prayerhandemoji #2blessed2bestressed
