Popped at the San Jose International Short Film Festival

Last night, at the last screening of the San Jose International Short Film Festival, Popped was screened as one of the entries for the festival's Three-Day Film Challenge.  At the end of the night, after a vote, Popped was named the Audience Choice Award for Scariest Film!  Below is a photo of Emily and some of the cast and crew of Popped, enjoying the distinction of scariest film just after their win.  Emily is so proud to have been a part of Placeholders Productions for this film, and hopes to work with them in the future!

The trailer for Popped, a horror short film featuring Emily as Carrie, has been released!  This psychological thriller by Placeholder Productions is an entry for the San Jose International Short Film Festival's 3-Day Horror Short Challenge, and will premiere as part of the festival in San Jose on October 25th.  You can check out the trailer for the short film below.  For more information and to get tickets to the screening, visit the San Jose International Short Film Festival's website.

Casting News:  Evermore at Ross Valley Players

This week, Emily was cast in a staged reading of Evermore, a new play written by Gary Wright and directed by Cris Cassell, with Ross Valley Players in Ross, California.  The play is about the life and work of Edgar Allen Poe, exploring his relationships with his editor, Dr. Rufus Wilmot Griswold, his wife, and his mother-in-law, Mariah Clemm.  Emily will portray Poe's wife, Virginia Clemm Poe, who inspired many of the poet's works.  Emily is thrilled to be working with Ross Valley Players and for the chance to portray a historical figure who deserves to be celebrated for her kindness and full heart.

If you are in the area, you can catch Emily's Bay Area stage debut at the end of the month! ​ The staged reading will be performed on October 31 and November 1 at 8pm.  Talkbacks will be held after both performances.  The Barn Theatre, home of Ross Valley Players, is located in the Marin Art and Garden Center in Ross, California.  Visit the Ross Valley Players website for more information about the play and details of attending the reading.

Popped Is Wrapped!

The short film Popped that Emily will appear in wrapped early this morning!  As part of the San Jose International Film Festival's Three-Day Horror Film Challenge, shooting for the horror short took place in one day, and the actors received the script for the first time when they got to set.  Emily portrays Carrie, a feisty character in a group of friends who face dire circumstances in this psychological thriller.  Popped will premiere with other Three-Day Horror Challenge entries on October 25 at 8:00pm at the CineArts Theater in San Jose as part of the final screening for the San Jose International Short Film Festival.  Emily had an amazing time with the cast and crew and is so excited for the final cut!  If you are in the area, please purchase tickets and catch Emily's on-screen Bay Area debut!

Casting News - Three-Day Short Film Challenge

Emily is excited to announce that she's recently been cast in another short film in the Bay Area!  The San Jose International Short Film Festival is hosting a three-day horror genre short film challenge, in which groups must write, produce, edit, and submit their 3-6 minute film in three days.  Emily is in a small cast that will be working on a psychological thriller film titled Popped that shoots this weekend!  The finished product will be presented at the CineArts Theater as part of the 2015 San Jose International Short Film Festival on October 25.  Emily can't wait to start work on this whirlwind shooting process!  If you are in the Bay Area, make sure to catch the screening later this month!
